This program bridges a number of topics, creative mediums, perspectives and pockets of the Santa Cruz community that often feel isolated from one another. Each of us lives in an echo chamber of friends and family, often surrounded by like minded people, or we’re too busy to seek anything that isn’t familiar. “Just4TheRecord” connects worlds of words, music, visual arts and activism, by creating a network of creatives working locally within each of these disciplines, thoughtfully brought together by the love of record collecting, and the irreplaceable experience of listening to music on vinyl with friends.
Featuring vinyl selections from Uncle Gabe’s personal collection, as well as some selected favorites from guests and co-hosts, this hybrid program weaves together music and dialogue, evoking the air of what it’s really like to sit down for an open conversation.
“Just4TheRecord” is an opportunity for everyone to share themselves true, surrounded by acceptance and respect, with the ever present foundation of artistic creation flowing above and beneath us, always.
